Dr. Felipe Pedrazzi

Biologist, Master in Regional Geology, and Ph.D. in Geosciences and Environment. Founder and current President-Director of the Brazilian Composting Association. Working with composting since 2009, he currently manages a mixed system composting operation (aerated/windrow piles) in Pereiras, São Paulo/SP, processing 24,000 tons/year. He has been a member of the US Composting Council since 2017, where he served as Chair of the Young Professionals Training Group (Webinar Committee). Founder of SmartCompost, a patented system for monitoring compost piles and atmospheric conditions.

Dr. Thiago Cacuro

Ph.D. in Biotechnology (UFSCar, KIT, Germany), Bachelor in Biological Sciences and in Systems Analysis and Development. With over 12 years of experience in R&D of technologies for agribusinesses and waste management systems, he has developed firmware for microcontrollers and has worked in Brazil, the United States, and Germany. He is the co-founder and CTO of SmartCompost, serves as a university professor in engineering and technology, is the Technical Director of the Brazilian Composting Association, and a Young Professional at the United States Composting Council.
